Science Fair Pictures

Brett did a great job on his science fair project. His display board is above. Below is a regular plastic spoon and Brett's natural plastic spoon.

Brett didn't really eat with the one he made...although he could have. Fortunately, the smell of natural plastic can't be transmitted through the blog. Yecch! After the spoon had been decomposing for a week or so, it was especially nasty. Think rotten milk and vinegar. Or don't.

Speaking of smells...my favorite moment of the science fair came when I passed a mother and son cleaning up an experiment where hard-boiled eggs get sucked into a bottle. Each time after an egg was sucked in, the boy would dump the egg into a zip-lock bag so he could show the experiment to the next judge. His mom opened up the bag for him to dispose of the egg and said, "Eewww, that smells awful!" The boy knowingly responded, "That's the smell of science, Mom."
